It looks like Floyd Mayweather might actually be coming out of retirement from boxing and making an attempt at MMA. On Tuesday, Money May posted a short clip on Instagram of him stepping into an MMA cage, before Conor McGregor hilariously responded with "Keep up the good work, my son. Yours sincerely, Senior."
But now a day after Floyd first teased us with the idea, the boxing legend decided to double down on his MMA career and share another clip of him standing in the octagon Wednesday evening, and talking some shit. He captioned the post, "Come at the king, you best not miss."
"2018, Floyd 'Money' Mayweather, MMA. What are the odds, Paddy? What are the odds?" Mayweather says in the clip fueling more rumors of his MMA deal.
In mid-December, UFC president Dana White told ESPN that they were negotiating a potential deal to bring Mayweather to MMA. "We're talking to Floyd about doing a UFC deal," White said. "It's real. He was talking about [boxing] Conor McGregor. Was that real? Have you heard Floyd talk about many things that aren't real? He usually tips his hand when he's in the media, and that s--- ends up happening. We're interested in doing something with Floyd."
While Floyd debunked those rumors back then, and said he’d only do MMA for a billion dollars, his latest activity on Instagram seems to allude otherwise.
Floyd is a master at marketing and building hype so maybe he’s just trolling fans, but check out the clip for yourself (below) and let us know what you think. Would you like to see Floyd try his attempt at MMA?
