Finally. While Royce Da 5'9" and DJ Premier have been working on their anticipated sequel to 2014's PRhyme for a minute now, it would appear the sequel's release date is coming sooner than later. A week ago, a tentative release date surfaced signalling a March 16th release, and while that has yet to be confirmed, it's looking more and more likely. Today, Royce Da 5'9" took to Twitter to officially announce the project's lead single, which is officially set to drop tomorrow. The track, titled "Era," will feature New York rapper Dave East.
"The Journey starts tomorrow..." writes Royce, "You’re welcome." Along with the hype-inducing caption, Royce also shared a teaser, which gives a brief preview of what we can expect from the track. To be honest, it's not much to go off. Still, it's good to know that the wheels are officially in motion, and PRhyme 2 should be with us in a few months from now. It should be noted that the cinematic visual component all but confirms a video is also in the works. Suffice it to see, PRhyme season is in full swing.
In other PRhyme news, Royce was recently spotted filming a video with J Cole, which has led to speculation that a collaboration would be appearing on the upcoming project. However, it's unclear whether or not the Cole/Royce track is meant for PRhyme; perhaps it's being saved for Royce's upcoming The Book Of Ryan, or J. Cole's untitled album.
