For a man who goes by the moniker "Love," Diddy has certainly mastered the art of shade. After the 2018 Grammys, Diddy hit his Twitter to post a legendary photo, which featured Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, and Nas. The sheer talent of the trifecta was appreciated by fans and Diddy alike, who captioned the picture with "3 Kings! 3 GREAT FRIENDS! Love you guys. #BlackGreatness." However, eagle-eyed fans were quick to make a surprising deduction - French Montana had posted the same picture on his own Instagram feed, only with a few notable differences.
As it turns out, the original picture (as posted by French) featured both himself and Fabolous alongside Jigga, Nas, and Kendrick. In Diddy's version, only Jay, Nas and Kendrick remained. And while Diddy could of simply cropped out Fabolous (due to his positioning), French was smack in the middle of Nas and K Dot. Therefore, it stands to reason that "Love" had French Montana digitally removed from the picture entirely. Check out the two pictures below for a direct comparison:
The situation is made even stranger by the fact that French and Diddy are actually homies. Still, one can somewhat understand Diddy's motivations, as there stands a certain sense of allure surrounding Jay-Z, Nas, and Kendrick. That's not to say the others aren't dope artists in their own right, but the big three are widely considered elite-tier by many hip-hop fans.
Either way, it's an amusing bit of pettiness, made dully so by the effort somebody has to go through in removing Montana from the image. For the record, this isn't the first time Diddy engaged in a bit of hilarious cropping; he previously cropped Kylie and Kendall Jenner out of a "Black Excellence" Met Gala photo.
