Huge news from the WWE today.

More than two years after retiring from in-ring action in the WWE due to medical issues, WWE superstar Daniel Bryan has been cleared to return, according to a press release by the WWE. Bryan has always expressed a strong desire to return to the ring, even if it meant leaving WWE for another company once his contract expires, but fans won't have to wonder any longer.

Per WWE:

"Bryan underwent a full review of his medical history and received comprehensive neurological and physical evaluations independent of WWE. He was cleared by each doctor as well as WWE’s Medical Director, Dr. Joseph Maroon."

According to CBS Sports, tests showed a lesion on the front of the four-time world champion's brain shortly after Wrestlemania 31, which led to his decision to retire. However, Bryan has claimed that hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatments over the past two years have healed the damage to his brain, according to CBS Sports.

Bryan, who has served as the on-screen general manager of SmackDown Live since retiring, has been involved in a storyline with Shane McMahon, as well as WWE stars Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. One would assume today's announcement will pave the way for a match involving all four men at Wrestlemania 34 on Sunday, April 8 in New Orleans.

WWE fans will surely find out more on tonight's episode of SmackDown Live.
