Even though Meek Mill is once again free to make music, the #FreeMeek movement persists, so long as judge Genece Brinkley clutches onto his case with stubborn grip. Still, even the lingering thought of injustice can't keep Meek down, and the Philadelphia rapper has recently dropped off his welcome return to the game, Legends Of The Summer. Though one dubbing himself legend can be a dubious claim, Meek may very well have earned the title, given his importance to the community and newfound status as a catalyst for change in the justice system.
Across the project's four tracks, Meek employs the likes of Swizz Beatz, PnB Rock, Jeremih, and Miguel for assistance. Don't let the RnB presence fool you; Legends Of The Summer is chalk full of bangers. Opening track "Millidelphia" opens with the hype-inducing vocals of Swizz Beatz, who proclaims it's "Meek Time" over an ominous choir loop. "Dangerous" slows things down, as Meek pens a love letter to the ladies, citing the relationship of "Beyonce and Hov" as goals, as they say.
"1am" and "Stay Woke" close out the project on a strong note, and rest assured, Meek isn't finished with us yet. Celebrate his return to the game on Tidal, where you can listen in high quality on Tidal. #FreeMeek!
