The global community is just as vocal about Trump’s presidency as his opposers in the United States. The way that Americans would look at other world leaders that were acting erratically is the way the world community is looking at the US right now. Trump is set to visit the UK next week, and London mayor Sadiq Khan has approved the use of a large satirical balloon that will certainly be tweeted about by the president.
According to CNN, over 10,000 people signed a petition, and 1,000 people contributed £16,000 ($21,143.60) to a crowdfunding campaign for the balloon. The 6 meter, or 19 foot, balloon of baby Trump is only wearing a diaper while wielding a cell phone. Mayor Khan approved the petition, which is no surprise since he and Trump do not get along. The balloon will fly for two hours on Friday, July 13, at the same time as the "Stop Trump" march commences in London. Trump will be visiting London at the time. A spokesperson for the Mayor stated, "The Mayor supports the right to peaceful protest and understands that this can take many different forms. His city operations team have met with the organizers and have given them permission to use Parliament Square Garden as a grounding point for the blimp.” The statement continued on to warn the protesters that they still needed further authorization. “The organizers will also need to receive the necessary approvals from the Metropolitan Police and National Air Traffic Service in order for it to fly."
