The rookie wage scale is "handsome and wealthy."

Rookie point guard Collin Sexton will not get his wish to replace Kyrie Irving as LeBron's sidekick in Cleveland. What awaits him instead is a lucrative $20.2 million four-year contract to be the main piece in their new-look offense. Sensing an occasion to work under an NBA great, Sexton made his pitch to LeBron on live television, but things didn’t turn out, maybe for the best seeing as Sexton is a ball-dominant point guard. It's hard to believe Cleveland didn't draft Sexton with the knowledge they were bound to lose LeBron. By all accounts, Sexton was the most NBA-ready option on the board from an offensive standpoint.

Now that he's put pen to paper, Collin Sexton can't be included in a transaction for a 30 day period, and is only allowed to touch $4.1 of his assets in his rookie campaign. To make matters more interesting, he chose the same number as Kyrie Irving, and is therefore accepting of the challenge and willing to fill big shoes and face media scrutiny at a young age. Sexton averaged 19.2 points in his freshman year at Alabama, and is regarded as a big game player who likes the ball in his hands in key moments. Maybe there is some light at the end of the tunnel for a depleted Cavaliers' organization; day-by-day, week-by-week.
