"Rick And Morty" co-creator claims season four "hasn’t been ordered."

Rick and Morty started as a silent hit and grew into a national classic. Creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland brought the raunchy yet intricately layered adult cartoon to Cartoon Network's Adult Swim in 2013. Since then, the show has become a staple in modern day culture, with characters like Pickle Rick and phrases like "get schwifty" becoming trending topics. Still, with all of its success, the fourth season of Rick and Morty might be in jeopardy.

Co-creator Dan Harmon responded to an angry fan on Twitter over the weekend, and he blatantly stated that the fourth season of the hit series has yet to be ordered. The fan was irritated by delays that he thought were attributed to writing, and called Harmon a drunk that couldn't complete his work. Harmon explained to him that the writing was not the only issue. "It can be challenging, especially with crippling lazy alcoholism, to write a show that hasn’t been ordered by a network," Tweeted Harmon in response. The Rick and Morty co-creator has never been timid about addressing his self-admitted alcoholic ways.

In December, news broke that season four of Ricky and Morty was in danger after a writer stated that no one was working on the script. Speaking with The Detroit Cast, show writer Ryan Ridley stated, “As far as I know no one’s working on the show and I’m certainly not, so I don’t know what’s going on." Harmon's tweets only reaffirm the uncertain fate of Rick and Morty.
