Last night LeBron James and Stephen Curry selected their teams for the 2018 NBA All-Star Game via conference call which reportedly lasted about 20 minutes. The NBA dropped the ball by not televising the draft, but the players and fans are all hoping that'll change next season.
And while the All-Star captains refused to give the media any details about who was selected first, last etc., you don't have to be a genius to know that Kevin Durant was LeBron's #1 pick. In fact, KD confirmed as much last night.
Curry surely would've selected his teammate first if given the opportunity but he never got the chance because 'Bron had the #1 overall pick. After the Warriors' victory over the Timberwolves last night, in which KD posted a triple-double, the Warriors' All-Star forward said it was "humbling" to be chosen first among a pool of All-Stars.
"It's definitely humbling," Durant said, per ESPN. "You get respect from your peers. That's all you want and I feel like I've been earning that respect my whole career. ... I didn't think that the All-Star game would give me that type of feeling, being picked in the All-Star game at No. 1 would give me that feeling of respect from everybody. It's cool, it's good to see and I'm looking forward to having a good time."
"Steph told me after they picked the teams," he said.
Joining Durant on #TeamLeBron: Kyrie Irving, Anthony Davis, DeMarcus Cousins, Russell Westbrook, Kristaps Porzingis, Bradley Beal, LaMarcus Aldridge, Kevin Love, Victor Oladipo and John Wall.
While LeBron's roster has the size, Steph's squad has the shooting.
It's unclear who was Steph's first pick, but his lineup consists of James Harden, Giannis Antetokounmpo, DeMar DeRozan, Joel Embiid, Damian Lillard, Jimmy Butler, Karl-Anthony Towns, Kyle Lowry, Al Horford, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson.
The 2018 NBA All-Star Game will go down on Sunday, February 18th (8pm ET) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
