NBA Commissioner Adam Silver has selected Miami Heat point guard Goran Dragic as Kevin Love's replacement on #TeamLeBron for the 2018 NBA All-Star Game. It will mark Dragic's first All-Star appearance.
He is the third replacement All-Star added to LeBron's squad following Paul George and Andre Drummond, who were selected as replacements for DeMarcus Cousins and John Wall, respectively.
Dragic leads the Heat in scoring with 17 points per night in addition to averaging 4.8 assists and 4.1 rebounds. He has also guided Miami to a 29-22 record which puts them in fourth place in the Eastern Conference. Because of the Heat's record this season, and the fact that nobody on the roster made the All-Star team, many considered Dragic to be more than deserving of replacing Kevin Love.
However, there were several players, including Charlotte Hornets point guard Kemba Walker and Philadelphia 76ers rookie Ben Simmons, who were also worthy of the selection. Walker is averaging 22.4 points and nearly 6 assists per night, while Simmons boasts 16.7 points, 7.8 rebounds and 7.3 steals a game.
Barring any injuries over the next two weeks, here's what the NBA All-Star rosters will look like when Team LeBron goes head to head with Team Steph on February 18th.
#TeamLeBron: Kyrie Irving, Anthony Davis, Paul George, Russell Westbrook, Kristaps Porzingis, Bradley Beal, LaMarcus Aldridge, Goran Dragic, Victor Oladipo and Andre Drummond.
