A Dwight Howard deal is reportedly in place.

After getting jettisoned out of town by the Charlotte Hornets' organization, Dwight Howard has made his intentions clear, opting to seek a buyout from the Brooklyn Nets, where he was traded. The veteran center seems to have found his next landing spot, in what has been revolving tour of duty in the past 5 or 6 years.

According to league sources, Dwight Howard and his agent have reached an agreement with the Washington Wizards, though terms of the deal have not been disclosed, and he is still officially listed as property of the Hornets. The original trade between Brooklyn and Charlotte only comes to fruition after a league moratorium passes on Friday, at which point the Net's will shred his contract, allowing him to become an unrestricted free agent. The Wizards are believed to have a deal in principle with Dwight for his services.

On the Wizards' roster, Howard slots in vancancy left by Marcin Gortat's trade to the Clippers in exchange for Austin Rivers. Gortat is believed to have lost his will to remain on the Wizards' after receiving shellacking at the hands of star point guard John Wall. Howard averaged a respectable 16.6 points and 12.5 rebounds last year with the Hornets, a season which many considered a comeback of sorts for the big man.
