Roy Williams has posted letter template for Tar Heel fans intent on playing hookie today.

Roy Williams has been a walking paragon for coaching in the amateur ranks. He quite honestly belongs in a discussion of the all-time great coaches in basketball period. A good measure of his skill as a teacher seems to be summed up by his win at all cost attitude, today's pregame antics a case in point.

Ahead of the Tar Heels opening match in the NCAA Tournament, Williams found a ruse to drum up home support. Through the team's social media department, he posted letter template allowing fans to excuse themselves from work. The letter included Roy's signature as well as a blank space for the fan to fill out themself. The document reads as follows:

“Please excuse ________ from work today. As you are probably aware, it is officially an unofficial state holiday as the Tar Heels are beginning their run in the NCAA tournament. ________ will need to save all of their energy and positive vibes for the game.”

The game is currently at the halfway mark with North Carolina sporting a comfortably lead over the low seeded Lipscomb Bisons. Although we'll never how much of an advantage he may have gained with this ploy, the Tar Heels will always be heavy betting favorite as long as Roy is at the helm.

Tune in for the second half if you can.
