After a controversial roll-out, Tekashi 6ix9ine's debut album has arrived.

Is there really gold at the end of this rainbow? Tekashi seems to have found his lane, and that's by no means a bad thing. He made a name for himself delivering raw raps over menacing production, and that's a pattern that continues here. His antics may have proven detrimental for some; the young rapper is never far from controversy, leaving many to wonder if his reckless, no-fucks-given attitude will ultimately become his downfall. Tekashi seems to make a new enemy every day; it's no wonder his verses are so full of rage and aggression.

Swizz Beatz once compared the rapper to a young Sticky Fingaz. In terms of voice and energy, the comparison holds merit. Conceptually, it would be surprising if Tekashi came through with something as nuanced as Black Trash: The Autobiography Of Kirk Jones, at least at this point in his career. Still, the sky is the limit for Tekashi, who seems to plow through the doubters with fists flying. That's not to say the project is perfect; it can be an intense listen at times, and the non-stop aural barrage may prove exhausting for some. Still, fans will no doubt find themselves drawn to Tekashi's product, especially if they were feeling the lead off singles.

Be sure to stream DAY69 right here. Have you listened to it yet? If so, what are your thoughts. Try to look beyond the antics and think strictly about the music.
