Rich The Kid has built a strong name for himself over the past couple years thanks to his relentless work ethic & friendly release strategy. He may not have broke out onto the scene with a massive hit, but he networked his way up the latter, having collaborated with some of the biggest names in the game over the years including Young Thug, Migos, Desiigner, Pusha T, Lil Durk, Roy Woods, and more. But his biggest collar to date occurred a couple months ago when he teamed up with Kendrick Lamar (who barely does features as is) for a song called “New Freezer.” That look alone gave Rich The Kid instant credibility in the hip-hop world to those who might have doubted him before.
So to celebrate the success of the single, Rich decided to splurge on some new ice for his neck, and by splurge I mean he got himself a $200,000 dollar chain according to TMZ.
The chain, which says “Rich Forever Music” on it, is made up of rose and white gold with 2,790 encrusted diamonds placed throughout it. It was done by the Atlanta company Icebox Diamonds & Watches.
Check out the icy new chain (below) and let us know your thoughts. Does Rich The Kid have longevity in the game or no?
In other news, The NYC rapper recently chopped it up with Hot 97 and revealed how the collab with Kendrick Lamar actually came about.
"He was working on his DAMN. album when I was working on my album at Interscope's studios," he said. "He came in [to my studio] and asked me to hear some records. So I played him 'New Freezer,' I [had] recorded it two-three weeks [prior] at Quad [Studios] and I played it for him—it was the first record I played him—and he was just like, 'Yo, this is crazy, can I get on this?'" The rest, as they say, is history.
