LBJ is officially a Laker.

While initial reports had Lebron James announcing his decision this coming Tuesday, his agency Klutch Sports has officially let the cat out of the bag, announcing that James has inked a 4-year, $153.3 million deal with the Los Angeles Lakers. The fourth year of the contract will come with a player option and marks the longest contract James has signed since signing a deal for six years with the Heat back in 2010.

The general assumption was that Lebron would be headed to the City of Angels naturally to look toward another championship-winning era and to keep his family together as his 13-year old son is slated to play with the Sierra Canyon High School basketball squad.

“If everybody looks at it with a son at that age, you don’t want to be away from him during that period of time,” Gary Payton noted earlier in the year. “During the time that we’re having, basketball is school time. I think that he needs a father during that time and that’s it. I don’t think LeBron is that type of parent, I think he wants to be around his son a lot and see his son play a lot."

Los Angeles also provides another window of opportunity for James. As The Hollywood Reporter points out, James also has his SpringHill Entertainment production company with Maverick Carter, and a move to Hollywood could make things all the more easier to keep track of.

At the moment, SpringHill has credits with Starz's Survivor's Remorse series and is currently developing reboots of classic films like House Party and Space Jam.
