Quite a few songs have started to hit the platinum mark recently, a couple of examples being Lil Dicky's "Freaky Friday," Rae Sremmurd's "Powerglide," and Childish Gambino's "This Is America." The hits don't stop coming however, as it's been announced that Trippie Redd and Travis Scott's single "Dark Knight Dummo" has reached platinum status.
The track, which was produced by Honorable C.N.O.T.E., finds Trippie switching between a creeping build up and a booming chorus, complete with a sinister vibe throughout the track. Travis Scott assists with a verse of his own, holding his flow nicely without ever really outshining the lead artist.
The news was announced through a post on C.N.O.T.E.S.' Instagram, where he thanks his fans for making it happen.
"Dark knight dummo platinum thanks to everybody #2020 music .. .. festival muzik πͺπΏπͺπΏπͺπΏπͺπΏ," he writes. This marks Trippie's first ever platinum song where he's featured as the lead artist.
Soon after the track was released, a video for the song also dropped. In the video, Trippie Redd leads a crew of warriors trying to hide out in a log cabin during a zombie apocalypse. The video has all kinds of guts and gore, as well as Travis shooting a gun on top of a monster truck.
When he's not engaging in beef, Trippie has been working on his upcoming album, which will reportedly be a double album and will contain tracks from a variety of different inspirations and genres. The project is due to come out some time in July.
Congrats to Trippie, Travis, and C.N.O.T.E. on their new platinum track.
