Enjoying nearly two weeks of freedom, Meek Mill has a lot to celebrate on his 31st birthday. After spending the last few months locked up for violating the terms of his probation, Meek was finally released from prison after being sentenced to spend 2 to 4 years in the slammer. While he only served a portion of the time, the Philadelphia rapper's case was flooded with controversy from the first day with a judge that his legal team claims is biased against him and allegations of corruption against an arresting officer in the trial. As he was released on April 24, he was free to enjoy his May 6 birthday however he pleased and he chose to do so surrounded by his friends.
Most of the hip-hop community voiced their support for Meek as he was in prison from a Slovenian snowboarder at the Winter Olympics to politicians in his native Philly. As he turned 31 yesterday, the rapper chose to make his way to a warmer climate in Miami to enjoy dinner with a handful of his close friends. The "Dreams and Nightmares" artist recently had his travel restrictions lifted, allowing him to move freely throughout the country for work. Meek and company hit up Komodo in the Sunshine State, celebrating the occasion with champagne, shots, birthday cake and hookah.
Enjoying his newfound freedom, Meek has been spotted at several Philadelphia 76ers games, cheering on his team as they face off against the Boston Celtics in the second round of the NBA playoffs. Boston is currently leading the series 3-0 as Meek will need to become the team's good luck charm once again if they want to move on to the conference finals.
