Los Angeles Lakers rookie point guard Lonzo Ball was sidelined for last night's loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, due to a shoulder sprain he suffered on Saturday night, but he wasn't going to let his special edition Christmas day sneakers go to waste.
The kicks, which Lonzo would've worn had he been able to play, were created by well-known sneaker customizer Dan Gamache, aka @Mache275.
Lonzo was spotted in the "Grinch" Big Baller Brand ZO2 Prime Remix as he arrived at Staples Center last night, but Mache also took to social media to give fans a closer look at the custom kicks which were inspired by the most recent Grinch adaptation starring Jim Carrey.
Judging by the caption on Mache's IG post, this won't be the last time he laces Lonzo, or possibly one of his brothers, with a custom pair of Big Baller Brand sneakers.
"Cooked up these Grinch @bigballerbrand Zo2s for @zo tonight. Wanted to go away from the classic but expected Dr. Seuss grinch in favor of the more challenging Jim Carrey version. It’s a bummer he’s not playing with that shoulder injury but at least he’ll still be in the Christmas spirit supporting his squad tonight. Great working with Zo and the BBB family, looking forward to the next chapter."
