If there's one thing that Philadelphia 76ers fans know, it's to trust the process. Joel Embiid has been all about the process in his tenure with the Sixers and now that the team is building a young core including Ben Simmons, Markelle Fultz, Dario Saric and himself, there's a new process that Embiid needs to trust: linking up with his beloved Rihanna. When the Cameroonian former 3rd-overall draft pick initially hit Rihanna up, she shut him down, famously telling him to come back when he's an All-Star. Well, ladies and gentlemen, the time has come and Joel Embiid played in his first All-Star game last night, racking up 19 points with 8 rebounds and 2 blocks in 20 minutes of play.
Many egged on the Sixers star that, now that he's officially an All-Star, there is no better time than now to slide in Rihanna's DM's again. After all, he's keeping his side of the promise, right? Embiid sees the situation a little differently though as when asked if he ever got Rihanna's phone number and if he would play one-on-one for the chance to get with RiRi, he replies instantaneously, "I'm ready. Anytime."
The center follows up that, since they follow each other on Twitter, all he has to do is slide in the DM's and that he's taking his time since it is a process. We can't blame Joel for trying; I mean, after all, this is Rihanna we're talking about. We'll see if the two ever link up. You can best believe that Joel will be trying when the time is right.
