Timbaland is one of the GOAT producers in the game with a track record that speaks for itself. He's dabbled in an array of genres from rock to pop to hip hop to soul and R&B. The fact that he's teamed up with Young Thug should come as no surprise considering the both of them have a unique approach to the way they make music. They've worked together in the past but they have another one coming in the near future.
Timbaland recently previewed a snippet of an upcoming collaboration he has with Young Thug. On an Instagram post, Timbaland sits in the studio with his headphones on while mouthing Young Thug's lyrics. It has the signature crisp and minimal Timbaland production while Young Thug's volatile flow layers itself on top. The caption on the post simply read "Timbo x @thuggerthugger coming soon." We're going to take Timbo's word on that. Young Thug previously hopped on a track for Timbaland's King Stays King mixtape on the track "Didn't Do it."
Timbo's worked with OG's in hip hop but his creativity is clearly fueled by those who push the genre's boundaries. He recently produced a single for Florida's Ski Mask The Slump God featuring Offset on "With Vengeance" and it's speculated that he'll have more work with Ski Mask in the future.
Aside from locking himself in the studio relentlessly, we're hoping the Timbaland and Swizz Beatz beat battle actually comes into fruition. The two of them have teased it on social media for several months at this point but there's yet to be a date on when that will occur. They've both previewed not only new beats but new music with some of the hip hop's most celebrated talents of our time. Most recently, Timbaland previewed some new music he has with Meek Mill to build anticipation surrounding the upcoming beat battle.
