Prior to the official start of the NFL's free agency period, it was reported that free agent quarterback Kirk Cousins had narrowed his decision down to just two teams, the New York Jets and the Minnesota Vikings.
Today, roughly 24 hours since the start of free agency, it is being reported that Cousins will sign with the Vikings. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the 29-year old QB plans to sign a three-year, fully-guaranteed contract with Minnesota on Thursday. NFL Network insider Ian Rapaport is reporting that the deal is worth approximately $28 million per year.
The Vikings finished with a 13-3 record last season and made it to the NFC Championship game before losing to the eventual Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles. Minnesota has a number of enticing offensive weapons including wide receivers Stefon Diggs, Adam Thielen, as well as rookie running back sensation Dalvin Cook.
Cousins threw for 4,093 yards and 27 touchdowns last season with the Redskins.
