The internet has fun with the Packers' less-than-stellar performance.

Saturday night, it was a lethal combination of impressive defense on the Vikings end and a weak offense from the Packers that ultimately led to the former's blowout defeat of the latter in Lambeau Field, marking the first time in 24 years that Minnesota has ever accomplished a victory of this kind by a score of 16-0.

The most important aspect of the Vikings' strategy came in containing quarterback Brett Hundley, who threw 17-for-40, 130 yards, and two interceptions. Overall, the Packers' squad would add six punts and four interceptions to those stats.

"We knew he was going to run the ball,” Vikings cornerback Xavier Rhodes said of Hundley. “Once his first read or second read wasn’t there, he was going to take off. He wasn’t going to take any chance to try to create any more turnovers. We just tried to make him more of a pocket passer and throw the ball rather than use his feet.”

The last time the Vikings achieved a shutout win was on December 5th, 1993 when they beat the Detroit Lions at the Pontiac Silverdome. Of course, repeating history could be credited in part to the absence of quarterback Aaron Rodgers, and wide receiver Davante Adams. Jordy Nelson, who was in for Adams, would eventually get pulled in the second quarter after suffering a shoulder injury that would keep him out for the remainder of the match.

Naturally, Twitter had quite a bit to say of the game's result. Check out some of the top responses below.
