Los Angeles Lakers guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is reportedly serving a 25-day jail sentence with work release, which will allow him to leave the facility for games and practices, according to the L.A. Times.
Caldwell-Pope's sentence stems from his pleading guilty on December 13th to a probation violation he committed this summer.
According to the L.A. Times, the 24-year old guard failed to comply with a Michigan court's drug and alcohol screening order, which was part of a 12-month probation, according to the prosecutor's office in Auburn Hills, Mich., where he was stopped on suspicion of driving under the influence on March 29th.
He was not with the team for their win last night in Houston because he is not allowed to leave the state as he completes the sentence. He will also miss upcoming road games against the Timberwolves and Rockets.
Caldwell-Pope, averaging 14.2 points and five rebounds, is expected to play tomorrow night as the Lakers take on the Golden State Warriors at Oracle Arena.
