It was a crazy game between Georgia and Florida and social media had a lot to say about it.

This weekend one of the greatest rivalries in college football faced off in Jacksonville, Florida to set out to prove yet again whose dominance holds fast. It was the Universities of Georgia and Florida, respectively, who took to the field to face off, and ending things on a score of 42-7 in Georgia’s favor, the Bulldogs saw their record strengthen to 8-0 and 5-0 in the SEC while Florida suffered their third straight loss with their record going to 3-4—its worst start of the season since 1986.

It was UGA running back Sony Michel who would run for 137 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries while Florida’s offense struggled to ever gain any sort of momentum with quarterback Feleipe Franks getting sacked five times.

“We all were brought here to win,” said UF coach Jim McElwain when prompted on his two-year long run with the Gators. “And we haven’t done it. My concern isn’t about my job. My concern is about these players and our staff.”

Now on the heels of one of the program’s most embarrassing loss in its history, speculation of Florida’s potential firing of McElwain reaches its height. ESPN previously reported that the head coach claimed to have received death threats because of Florida’s losses, and after failing to find any evidence to support said claims, the university is reportedly exploring options to avoid paying his full buyout of $12.76 million in the event that he should be fired.

Nonetheless, Twitter had plenty of words to exchange over the matchup and its aftermath. Check out the app’s best reactions below.
