Back in 2012, Red Bull launched an artist development program called Sound Select, which was in effort to break buzzing bands and upcoming new artists with help from local tastemakers in different cities across the country. Two years later in 2014, Red Bull Sound Select launched “30 Days in L.A.,” a month-long festival that saw a different live music experience taking place every night of November. Well after a 3-year run in LA, Red Bull decided to move their month-long festival to Chicago this year, and kicked things off Wednesday night at the Metro where ATL rapper Young Thug headlined the opening show.
Running through his popular setlist, Thugger decided to spice things up a little bit Wednesday night and treat fans in attendance to a special live performance of his new Super Slimey record “Killed Before.” The performance happened to be the first time the record was performed live, but then again the record was just released two weeks ago. However with that said, fans already knew all the lyrics to the London On Da Track-produced record and were definitely happy to see it being performed live for the first time.
Thanks to our very own Rose Lilah, who was in attendance, fans can see some footage of the live performance (below). Check it out and let us know what you think. (Be sure to see the second slide for more of the performance). I've also included other fan-captured moments of the night as well.
If you happen to be in the Chicago area this month, be sure to check out who’s performing at the Red Bull Sound Select event here. Other performers set to take the stage this month include Migos, Lil Yachty, Kehlani, 6LACK, & more. This Saturday will see the much talked about reunion of the Big Tymers with Mannie Fresh & Birdman set to hit the stage along with Tee Grizzley. Peep ticket info for that right here.
