It's been a minute since we've heard a full-fledged studio album from Young Thug, as last year's Slime Season and On The RvN felt closer to a collaboration project and an EP respectively. While it is known that Thugger has been hard at work on his upcoming Barter 7, the snake-charming rapper has been coy insofar as concrete details are concerned. However, he has been relatively open about sharing his handiwork, and the latest studio snippet provides a promising look at his new creative direction
Thugger took a moment to preview an untitled banger, which finds him flowing over a dark trap instrumental. Highlighting an elaborate Pro Tools session, Thugger comes through with the hype-stoking "Album Time for me" caption, which speaks to a sooner-than-later release. It's unclear whether he's still going with the Barter 7, but either way, it seems to signal a return to "rapping Thug" on whatever it's ultimately titled.
