Nipsey Hussle's memorial at the Staple's Center in Los Angeles is wrapping up as we write this and among all the touching tributes made by Nipsey's family and children was a loving statement by his friend, YG. The "Big Bank" rapper hit the podium with DJ Mustard by his side where he shared words on just how special his "brother from another color" was.
"I want to congratulate [Nipsey] for his legacy and everything he did, all the game he gave me, all the people he touched and for the brand he left behind," YG told the audience. "On behalf of west coast, on behalf of LA, the streets...we love you n***a, we gone miss you my n***a, you already know what it is."
Earlier in YG's speech, he explained how he knew Nipsey was special when the Victory Lap rapper would give him suggestions on certain books to read. YG even explained a heartfelt text message he received from Nipsey for his birthday in March, where Nipsey was congratulating YG for creating a name for himself that won't be forgotten.
When the news broke of Nipsey's passing, YG broke his silence explaining his loss for words. "We went thru so much shit together tryna make it out of LA with this rap shit, But we always got thru it then talked about it & after we talked. We laughed! You was a real big bro to me no kap. YOU 1 OF A KIND!"
