We're quickly coming up on the year anniversary of XXXTentacion's death and fans are still struggling with accepting the 20-year-old rapper's murder. In the summer of 2018, XXXTentacion, real name Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy, was attempting to leave a motorcycle dealership when he was blocked from exiting by an SUV. Two men jumped out of the car and struggled with Onfroy before robbing and shooting him dead.
In January, Jenesis Sanchez gave birth to Onfroy's son, Gekyume Onfroy, and since then both Sanchez and Cleopatra Bernard, Onfroy's mother, have been sharing photos of their precious boy. Not long after Gekyume was born, Sanchez said she was hidden away from the public for the duration of her pregnancy. Onfroy only found out he was going to be a father just weeks before his death.
"Gekyume means different state or universe of thought," said the 20-year-old. "And yes, Jahseh did pick out this name before he passed away. He also had a name for a girl. It was Xiorra." She further explained the baby's name saying, "He took a couple of letters from his favorite characters from this video game 'Kingdom Hearts' and just mashed them all together. I know it's kind of hard to say Gekyume."
New photos of Gekyume have emerged, and the little one is looking more and more like his father each day. Sanchez has said that Gekyume will hear about his father 24-7, so even though Onfroy may be gone, his son will carry on his legacy.
