While some of XXXTentacion's actions in life were despicable and abusive, it appeared that he was trying to make amends and pursue positive and charitable behavior. His untimely death took place a little more than a week before his "A Helping Hand" charity event was set to go down.
X's mother was quick to confirm that the event would still be happening on Sunday, and that it was his "final wish." Ski Mask The Slump God even expressed his interest in hosting the event.
As it turns out, however, one of the people responsible for getting the event off the ground after X's death was 070 Shake's manager/social media influencer Yes Julz. According to Hip-Hop DX, her and her company, 1AM, stepped in to help after X's passing.
The event was held yesterday, June 24th, at Charles R. Drew Elementary School in Miami, Florida. There, volunteers handed out bagged lunches to those in need. According to Yes Julz, the number of people assisted by the event was 1000.
"We fed 1000 people today in @xxxtentacion's name," Yes Julz wrote on Twitter. "The kids he use to come & visit were asking about him & a few were even inspired to hop on the mic! Jah was always about Florida talent, he would’ve loved this 🖤 #AHelpingHand."
While it seems that Ski Mask The Slump God did not make an appearance, he was at the BET Awards paying respect to his friend in his own way. Check out some pictures from the "A Helping Hand" event down below.
