This week has been difficult to navigate for the millions of people XXXTentacion's music touched. Creating art for the broken-hearted and depressed minds of the world, X was a lot of people's favorite artist. While he never got to reach the potential heights that he was destined for, XXX still managed to create a longlasting legacy for himself, with over a billion streams on Spotify, a number 1 album and a new posthumous streaming record. Yesterday, his mother invited fans and friends of her late son to his home in Florida to celebrate his life and, at the vigil, she had informed people that an arrest was made in correlation to the murder. Shortly after the vigil had ended, information was released about the arrest.
22-year-old Dedrick D. Williams has been arrested in connection to the murder of XXXTentacion. The Broward County Sheriff's Department took the man into custody after a reported police chase on I-95, which appears to have ended with the cops nabbing Williams. TMZ is reporting that the man is being held without bail for first-degree murder. In addition to the new charges, Williams was also hit with a probation violation for a previous grand theft charge.
As details continue to emerge on the circumstances leading to X's death, we will update you.
