Wu-Tang Clan said on twitter we'd be receiving the title track for their upcoming album today, and it arrives as promised, although it's a bit earlier than we expected. The new single comes fresh off their performance on David Letterman last night, where they performed an earlier leak, "Ruckus In B Minor." "A Better Tomorrow," produced by RZA, is on that feel-good tip, but with grown-up vibes. This is mature hip-hop, as the Wu contemplate the world we live in, and Raekwon's verse is especially relevant today.
A Better Tomorrow arrives on December 2nd, and you can pre-order it on iTunes now. Yesterday we found out how much RZA personally invested into the album (not just emotionally, but financially). Read about that here.
Quotable Lyrics
Wake up and realize the times that we live in
The world is getting more iller than ever
Thought we was chillin' strivin' change for the better
But it was a dream like Martin Luther
He had a vision that could move mountains
Protect one another, word to my brother Malcolm
Assalamu Alaykum Alaykum Assalamu
We want justice, police supposed to protect and serve
And then they shoot us down like wild animals,
The nerve of them cold-hearted killers with blue suits
Slayin' our black youth
- Raekwon
