A Wu-Tang Clan affiliate Shyheim is in some hot water, after allegedly leaving the scene of a car crash on New Years day around 5 AM, which resulted in the death of another person.
As HipHopWired reports, the accident occurred in Staten Island at the intersection of Cassidy Place and Lafayette Avenue, and police think that Shyheim was driving when he slammed into Felipe Avila's Toyota, leaving the 29-year old dead and fleeing the scene. On top of this, police are saying Shyheim also hit a Dodge Ram and then ran off on foot. Shyheim is currently in custody, he turned himself in yesterday morning.
Before Shyheim turned himself in though, he took the time to post a YouTube video asking fans for money to help with his mounting legal troubles, providing his lawyer's address. This is his second charge in recent times, in April 2013 he was arrested after the police searched his home and found heroin and a .32 caliber Serrifile Inc. Terrier One revolver.
[Update: Shyheim Pleads Guilty To Manslaughter]
Shyheim has pleaded guilty to second degree manslaughter, a charge stemming from a hit-and-run accident in January. He also pleaded guilt to previous drugs and weapons charges, which he caught after a police raid of his home last year.
The rapper will be sentenced on August 21st, and is expected to serve between 4 and 14 years for the Manslaughter charge. His gun charge will earn him a seven year concurrent term.
More coverage to come following his sentencing.
