Wiz Khalifa's no longer the skinny, weed smoking rapper we all were introduced to back in the day. These days, the rapper is bulked up as ever and has been showing off the progress he's made in the gym. He's also been doing a lot of MMA training as well. While it's unlikely that we'll see him enter a UFC match-up in the near future, the rapper does credit his passion for mixed martial arts for helping him pack on the pounds.
Wiz Khalifa recently spoke to the Bleacher Report ahead of his Dazed & Blazed tour with Rae Sremmurd and spoke in-depth about his new hobby. Wiz has been training in L.A. with Rigan Machado who has an eighth-degree red and black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The rapper reportedly went from 140 lbs. to 175 lbs due to his MMA training. The rapper explained that although he enjoyed his slimness, he felt it was time to put on some weight.
"I was cool with being skinny before. But as a 30-year-old man, I like myself with more weight,” he said.
The rapper explained that he got into MMA because he was tired of getting his "ass whooped" by his cousins.
"My cousins train jiu-jitsu and stand-up as well." He revealed, "I just got tired of getting my ass whooped, so I figured I would learn how to fight."
