This year promises to be one of the most stacked in terms of high-profile album releases. In just a few days, we will be able to listen to brand new J. Cole. Drake announced the release month for Scorpion and that's only really the tip of the iceberg. Plenty of artists have albums that we expect before the end of the year, including Kanye West and Nicki Minaj. While it has been in the works for quite some time, we can throw Wiz Khalifa name in there as well.
Originally titled Rolling Papers 2, Wiz opted for his upcoming project to stand by itself, naming it Khalifa Kush. We have not received many updates pertaining to the album's production or when it is expected to release from its author but it's looking like everything will be cleared up shortly. Updating his Instagram page, Wiz added a casual photo of himself with a telling caption. "Got my album date 😎. Let y’all know when it comes out in a few #gang," wrote the Taylor Gang member. At the beginning of the year, Wiz informed his fans that he was writing amazing music and that the "albums never done till it comes out." With this most recent development, it looks as though the body of work has been completed and, with a release date being withheld, for the time being, speculation begins on when we can expect Khalifa Kush.
With this Friday marking 4/20, it may be a little rushed for Wiz to surprisingly drop at the end of the week, though it would make the most sense given the name of the project. Regardless, we will continue to keep an eye out for any updates pertaining to the rapper's next album.
