Wiz Khalifa recently asked fans whether he should record an album of him entirely singing. The Pittsburgh rapper seems to have gotten some positive reception to the idea because he's "100%" down to experiment with more R&B vibes for an entire album.
While speaking to UPROXX, Wiz Khalifa revealed that he's entirely open to making an album of him singing on it. The rapper has flexed his melodic sides over the years, but with Rolling Papers 2 out, Wiz is down to step outside of his comfort zone and experiment with his vocal range for an entire project.
"100%, and it’s more open for me to do that now because of how music is being digested and especially since I put my album out now," he said. "You have the album, now I can have fun and experiment and do some cool sh*t in between. So yeah, for sure."
The rapper dabbled with R&B on the Swae Lee-assisted Rolling Papers 2 track, "Hopeless Romantic." He also joined H.E.R. on their new single, "What I Know Now." The rapper revealed that H.E.R. are also among some of his frequently played R&B acts on his playlist.
"I like Khalid, Ty Dolla $ign, Jacquees is hard, Jeremih is hard, H.E.R. Really, I’m a smooth listener," he said. "I’m kinda rough around the edges, but the music that I enjoy is really, really, smooth so being able to put those two together."
It's unsure when we'll end up hearing this R&B album from Wiz but we're looking forward to it.
