Willow Smith has taken on a very mature role for a 17-year-old as she's joined her mother, Jada Smith, and grandmother for a roundtable talk show called Red Table Talk. The series dives into the hardships of being a woman, finding yourself and so much more.
In the latest episode, Willow opened up to her mother about a time where she self-harmed herself at the young age of 10 when she "lost her sanity." It was in 2010 when she had just released "Whip My Hair."
"After all of that settled down and there was a lull, I was just listening to a lot of dark music and it was just so crazy," she explained. "I was just plunged into this black hole and I was cutting myself. I was kind of just in this grey area of like 'Who am I? Do I have a purpose?"
She added: "Is there anything that I can do beyond this?' I honestly felt like I was experiencing so much emotional pain but my physical circumstances weren't reflecting that."
Willow said she stopped self-harming when she was 13: "One night I was just like 'this is actually psychotic'. And after that, I just stopped."
