Will Smith has reportedly signed on to play the role of Serena and Venus Williams' father and tennis coach, Richard Williams, in an upcoming film titled, "King Richard."
According to Deadline, Tim White and Trevor White will produce the film under their Star Thrower Entertainment banner, alongside Smith and his Overbrook Entertainment banner.
Richard Williams, who didn't have any tennis background before coaching up two of the game's greatest players, reportedly crafted a 78-page plan for their professional tennis careers when the girls were no more than toddlers growing up in Compton, California. The rest is history, and there's certainly a story worth telling.
Serena has racked up 23 Grand Slam tournament wins to date, while Venus has tallied seven Grand Slam titles of her own.
