Some of you are probably unaware that Will Smith was married before Jada Pinkett and that he had another son in his first marriage, named Trey Smith. While we haven't seen or heard a lot about Trey over the years, in comparison to Jaden or Willow, that changed on Tuesday when Will decided to take a moment out of his day and share some kind words about their working relationship. Will admits their relationship struggled for years, but as of recently they’re better than ever.
“It has not always been like this between Trey & I. We STRUGGLED FOR YEARS after my Divorce from his Mother. He felt betrayed & abandoned. It is a Wild Blessing to recover & restore a Loving Relationship with My Beautiful Son!” he wrote as his caption.
In addition to the words, Will also shared an moving clip reminiscing about their trip in Abu Dhabi at F1 where Trey acknowledge to Will that the two are best friends.
“He said you know what dad? He said I just realized. You’re not just my dad and he paused, Im pretty sure you're my best friend,” Will said of the story as he reacted with a deep breathe and some tears swelling up in his eyes.
