According to a report from Deadline, Will Smith won’t be returning to his role as Deadshot in James Gunn-directed Suicide Squad sequel. Reports suggest that Will had scheduling conflicts and couldn't work around it.
Smith starred in the 2016 original installment of the film alongside Jared Leto, Viola Davis, Jay Hernandez, and Margot Robbie. There’s no word yet as for who out of those stars will be returning, but it safe to say Margot Robbie will retain her role as Harley Quinn.
Back in September, Will was asked about his role as Deadshot in a Q&A online. "I hope so. I love playing Deadshot, I've really enjoyed that character," he said. "They've been talking about it, so if a good idea comes around... we've been having meetings. But I'd love to. I love Deadshot."
Unfortunately that doesn't look to be the case however as Will won' be playing the role. The movie is expected to start production in Atlanta come this September and hit theaters Aug. 6, 2021. We’ll keep you posted once more info is revealed. Who would you like to see replace him?
