Wifisfuneral first previewed his latest joint while performing at SXSW this year. Now, ahead of the release of his forthcoming Ethernet mixtape, the Bronx-born, South Florida-bred rapper has come through with the complete version of his Cash Money-inspired “Juveniles,” featuring YBN Nahmir.
The opening line comes direct from Lil Wayne’s “Drop It Like It’s Hot” smash as Wifi declares, “After you back it up and stop/What, what, what drop it like it’s hot,” before launching into his first verse. Once we reach the hook, we’re welcomed with a clean reference to Juvenile’s “Back That Azz Up” cut as he pulls lines from that cut’s iconic opener.
Produced by Jahlil Beats, the track comes together for a nostalgic vibe that would have found itself right at home in the 90s-era Cash Money house.
Quotable Lyrics:
20 grand all up in my hand
Yeah, please understand
Damn, man, see I'm really about these bands
How you came with all of that?
She gon' bust it from the front
And I'm gon' catch it from the back.
