Right before Christmas, a scandal broke out regarding Wendy Williams' husband as he allegedly got his mistress pregnant. Kevin Hunter has reportedly been leading a double life, finding time to start a family with a woman who lives down the street from his and Wendy's home. On top of a possible looming divorce, Wendy suffered a shoulder fracture and was forced to take some time off from her show to recover. Her daytime talk show is usually filled with drama but the tables have now turned and she's the one dealing with this mess. Wendy's return to television was initially announced for earlier this month before she decided she needed another week off. Fans were expecting her back on January 14 but according to Variety, that won't be the case.
The host previously announced that she would be back this coming Monday but the distributor of the show is telling Variety that she will actually only be back the following week. With Wendy returning on January 21, a panel of "Hot Talkers" will be manning the program when new episodes air in a few days. The following statement was issued:
"As she has for the past 10 years, Wendy delivers an incomparable live talk show day in and day out and we want to give her the best opportunity to heal and recover. Wendy has our complete and unwavering support and we look forward to her return to the iconic purple chair."
