Drake releases his "VIEWS"-inspired short film, "Please Forgive Me," on Apple Music.

After announcing the project last month, Drake hadn't spilled many details on "Please Forgive Me," aside from that it's a "short film" inspired by his latest album, VIEWS. Drake originally scheduled the "Please Forgive Me" premiere for Sept. 30, but earlier today, he revealed that the film would arrive tonight. Indeed, "Please Forgive Me," which has a runtime of over 21 minutes, went live just after 1AM and can now be watched exclusively via Apple Music

"Please Forgive Me," a film by Anthony Mandler and Drake, is directed by Mandler and scored by Noah "40" Shebib. Mandler has directed Drake videos like "Over" and "Find Your Love," the latter which has a loosely similar style and storyline to "Please Forgive Me." Drake stars in the film alongside Belgian model and actress Fanny Neguesha, who plays his love interest. She's propositioned by a powerful local mafioso, and Drake and his right-hand shooter, Popcaan, enact a sneaky revenge plot that leads them into the heart of the South African underworld.

The film was shot in Johannesburg and in the Namibian desert, where Neguesha and a leopard feature in a sleek montage set to the tune of "Controlla." "One Dance" is the other song that is closest to receiving a full music video-style sequence, which includes a cameo from Kyla, who sang on the original UK house track that inspired the chart-topping single. Other VIEWS songs that play during "Please Forgive Me" include "Weston Road Flows," "Hype," "Views," "9," and "Summer's Over Interlude," which closes the film.
