J Cole's themes have always outclassed his pure lyrical ability. It's not a bad problem to have but people have to stop acting like he's in the upper echelon of technically rapping. He got to the top by being relatable, thoughtful, and above average with the pen. He has really got much better since the warm up from a lyrical standpoint. He just sounds better and his voice holds more weight, those are the only real differences.
