So there's rumors of a Ross/Wayne album, A Drake/Wayne album, and a Ross/Drake album, why don't they just form a supergroup or something, I'm On One & She Will are both pretty dope.

Conceited isn't she? Can't even accept a fucking apology. Oh well, her popularity is limited to her body, which I will look at anyday lol, while my nigga Wale got things popping with MMG

Article: Truly Yours 2
This is a great EP, if these songs are what Cole considers freebie quality, then I can't wait to hear what he has on the album. Power Trip is pretty much my favorite rap song of the year so far, so if the rest of the album is that good then I can't wait to hear it. I respect how Cole can go away for pretty much about a year, and then come back and make a big impact with this quality music.

Article: Lil Wayne Issues Apology To Emmett Till Family Over Lyric [Update: Till Family Does Not Accept It]
I'm not questioning whether Wayne wrote it or not, I don't really care either way. I don't think he's being sincere about it. I find it odd that he waited until the Till family wanted to start appealing to his sponsors to make an apology

Y'all, Wayne isn't saying a "Drake & Wayne" album, he's saying a "Big Tymers & Drake" album. So that eqauls Birdman, Mannie Fresh, and Drake. But Wayne will be on almost every song as well anyway. Birdman is a god-awful rapper, I wish he'd just stick to being Cash Money CEO and cheating his signees out of royalties. And Mannie Fresh is a great producer, but he sucks ass a rapper. Of course having Drake as a part of the group would get my attention, but Baby & Mannie would ruin every song.

Yeezy is my favorite rapper, and it pains me to say I think he's gone off the deep end. I'll have to wait to hear this "I Am A God" song in full quality, but I really wish he'd stop with the skirt-wearing/odd ass face mask thing. He makes himself extremely hard to defend with his shenanigans, but oh well...

LMFAO, leave it to yet another Kanye vs. The Paparazzi video to get me my laugh for the day. I accept his tantrums for what they are and find them seriously hilarious. Looking forward to his new music too btw...

Well I don't think anyone was expecting this album to be anywhere near the "Classic" or "Album of The Decade" he tried to say it would be. Most of these snippets just sound like trap mixtape songs, not album cuts. Definitely won't be listening to this shit except for the song with the Weeknd, and that's only because of The Weeknd.

Now I'm sure it has nothing to do with money, and she's just genuinely interested in him as a person, because from his music and interviews you can tell he's an eloquent speaker with such depth to his thoughts, and definitely not someone who disrespects women and hangs around with niggas who violently beat women on videos, in addition to possibly having something to do with a fellow CHI-Town rapper's murder and then joking about it on twitter
0 0ReplyMay 13, 2013
Kanye West will go down in history as a greater rap artist than 50 Cent was, that will last even after they're both dead. Who had the most money however, won't matter. 50's last great album was the Massacre. Kanye has consistently made quality albums that outshine everything else ever since the start of his career
0 0ReplyMay 15, 2013
I'm not gonna listen too much to these performances, because I prefer to just hear songs in full quality first. He definitely needs to drop a new single. It seems like he's just going to debut 2 new singles on SNL, which I don't think has ever been done before, but leave it to Yeezy to be different.
0 0ReplyMay 16, 2013
This is a great line-up for a pop music fan I guess, there's no one I'm particularly psyched about seeing in this line up, except maybe Miguel and Chris Brown, because they're great performers, and Jennifer Lopez because she's sexy as hell. Fuck everybody else at this thing though. I'm more excited about my nigga Yeezy performing some new music on SNL. And can we get Kendrick, Cole, and Drake at one of these award shows?
0 0ReplyMay 16, 2013
I think the release date will stick, a Kanye solo album has never sold less than 400k the first week, he has a loyal fanbase that has stuck with him consistently. Besides, we don't even know if New Slaves is the official first single or not, he'll debut another song on SNL tonight as well, maybe that one will be more radio friendly. But it doesn't matter, the album will sale anyway, I know I'm buying it

Article: Possible Tracklist Released For J. Cole's "Born Sinner" [Update: J. Cole Confirms Tracklist Is Real]
This tracklist is fake, because Cole said there weren't any rap features, so unless Kendrick is singing the hook "Money Trees" or "Bitch, Don't Kill My Vibe" style on the song, I doubt it.And if Crooked Smile sets the tone for the uplifting half of the album, then I don't think "Chaining Day" and "Let Nas Down" go with it. Plus he said he'd never name the song something like "I Disappointed Nas" and "Let Nas Down" is an even stupider title.

That is so hypocritical that Eminem received no flack for using parkinsons as a punchline, and Kanye is being persecuted for it. Kanye is right about one thing, the media and corporations are always trying to villainize him. It wasn't anything I personally got upset over at all, but the punchline was in poor taste, but if you're gonna go in on one rapper then go in on everyone that has made a reference to Parkinsons. Damn, rappers really have to watch what they say now.
0 0ReplyJune 19, 2013
The new numbers definitely look way more right to me. Kanye has never sold below 400k before, and I'd like to see him hit that number again. Even if he does 375k, considering the extreme lack of traditional promotion, that's still pretty good. As for Cole, 150k-200k would've been less than his debut, and there are a long list of reasons his fanbase should be way bigger now, than it was for Cole World, it was only right for it to sell more.
0 0ReplyJune 19, 2013
Is today Hip-Hop Christmas or something? 4 Dope tracks from Drake, Let Nas Down response from Nas, and Jay-Z's tracklist. I wonder if there's no features, or he's just waiting longer to reveal them. I can't wait to hear what he worked on with Raekwon, Justin, Nas and Drizzy. And I really hope Kanye & Cole are on that La Familia joint.
0 0ReplyJune 22, 2013
LMAO Big Sean knows he wasn't feeling Yeezus and North West is an idiotic ass name that that poor little girl is gonna have to be made fun of for having for the rest of her life now. But he can't talk bad about the boss though.
0 0ReplyJune 23, 2013
It's only fitting that the worst album of Kanye's career was the first to sell below 400k in the first week. Big Ye fan, but he disappointed me with that rushed industrial horrorcore shit. Cole had the best album of the week easily, and those numbers are great, about 60k more than his debut, and a far better album. Mac's album was dope too, he's grown lyrically, but I'll admit I only bumped it once, it's not my cup of tea. Great week for Hip-Hop and sales thanks to all 3, none the less.
0 0ReplyJune 26, 2013

A good week for Hip-Hop sales in general, I'm glad for all 3 albums' success. Now bring on Magna Carta Holy Grail, Nothing Was The Same, Hall Of Fame, and Em's shit. Hov usually does 400k, I don't know if the samsung thing will lower that or not. Drake & Em are both probably doing anywhere from 700k-1M I bet. I don't know about Sean, I think he'll at least pass 100k this time.
0 0ReplyJune 26, 2013
Freddie Gibbs and Danny Brown are completely irrelevant, not to mention Danny Brown is a faggot ass hack with the most annoying ass rap voice I've ever heard in my life. MGK ain't much more relevant than they are, Tyler hates on everybody, and Wale has sold way more records than all of them. The funny thing is, before those tweets were exposed, I bet all of them (except Tyler) would've smiled in Wale's face in collaborated with him if they had the chance. Niggas in the industry are fake.

Those mixtapes are classics, but I don't actually think a commercial reissue is going to get them any more attention than they already had. And as for the songs he did over other artist's beats, he's just gonna have to leave them off. So Far Gone had 17 songs, and when Drake commercially re-released it as an EP. Big Cole fan, loved the mixtapes, loved Born Sinner, but this is kind of pointless.
0 0ReplyJune 26, 2013
HELL NO,The album isn't a bad album compared to a lot of rapper's shit, but it's totally disgraceful as a Kanye West album, and not half as good as his other works. It's one thing to piss off the press and Taylor Swift loving people, but I really hope Ye isn't going to start deliberately alienating his fanbase with all this weird ass shit. He rushed the album out way way WAY too quickly, went too far out of his way to be different and weird and delivered an inferior project.
0 0ReplyJune 26, 2013
If you think Ross can't come correct when he's featured on an A-List album, then you haven't heard his features on Take Care and My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, he won't spit any bullshit. I'm cool with a Hov album that has no rap features. Blueprint and Black Album, two of his best albums, were nearly featureless. Still, he was in the studio with Nas, Raekwon, and Drake, I wondered where the songs he did with them ended up.
0 0ReplyJune 27, 2013
The only song on that album I see performing on the radio is "Bound", possibly "Hold My Liqour", but that's a stretch.

0 0ReplyJune 29, 2013
I don't think Em meant it's the most impressive album he's ever heard, I think he just meant he didn't expect Sean to create an album so good as it supposedly is. I, for one, think Sean is gonna surprise us all with this album.
0 0ReplyJune 30, 2013
I respect that, I'm glad T.I. isn't showing nepotism to his kids and letting them build their own way up into the rap game. Some celebrity parents (Will Smith) try to force their kids on people and it backfires (Jaden, After Earth). To tell the truth, it's hard for the offspring of any celebrity to be taken serious, especially as a rapper, since so many people think all rappers should've gone through "the struggle" which to them as had to mean living in the trap.

Man people have been saying there's gonna be a Cruel Winter on and off, for the past 8 months or so, it's really getting pretty annoying. I know Kanye keeps things shrouded in secrecy, partially and understandably due to leakers, but damn even his artists never know what's going on. In a perfect world, I would love to see Cruel Summer drop this December, and Watch The Throne 2 drop 2nd or 3rd quarter 2014. That is if those albums are anything more than myths.

I feel like rappers already planning their exit from Hip-Hop need to just go ahead and retire if they're already rich. If you don't love the genre anymore, you should just quit instead of putting out half-hearted bullshit music like Lil Wayne, for example does. Not that Nicki ever made good music anyway, I'm just saying in general. She really should do porn though...
0 0ReplyJuly 12, 2013
I mean we can't read J. Cole's mind and tell if he's insincere or not. His apology sounded more sincere than Rick Ross or Lil Wayne's apologies. Neither of them apologized until the moment their endorsement deals were threatened. Drake didn't really have anything to apologize for, it's not like he said the line, but it's whatever. Autism line or not, it's still a great song, and I'll continue blazing that shit.

Drake is about to dominate them as far as sales go that day. Nothing Was The Same will move anywhere from 600k-800k. Possibly 900k-1mil if he drops a huge second single, and steps his promo game up. But that doesn't really matter at the end of the day. The first two Self Made albums were pretty good, so hopefully we'll be getting 2 good albums that day.

It's obvious it was publicity stunt, especially since a new Khaled single featuring her just dropped. However, what she said here is the classic friendzone line girls drop on dudes "He's like a brother to me", that's the death sentence to your chances with a girl. She's delusional if she thinks he ain't attracted to her. Any living straight man would fuck her if they could. Do most girls really think guys don't wanna fuck a girl that their "just friends" with? They are naive then lol...

I highly doubt Jay-Z will collaborate with 2 Chainz, he might co-sign Chainz, but I don't think he'll collaborate with him. 2 Chainz definitely wouldn't be featured on a Jay-Z album, there is a slight chance Hov might give Chainz a feature though. I doubt it, Hov doesn't collaborate with too many rappers like Chainz. The weakest rapper I can remember Hov doing a song with at the moment is Nicki, and even still, that was Kanye's song and probably Kanye's idea.

Been waiting on a JT/Drake track for awhile, this will definitely be a smash hit on the radio, itunes, and charts; I can't wait to hear it. Hopefully JT returned the favor and will be on NWTS as well. As for Hov, he and JT have proved they can make hits together twice now, and just the title of the song makes me think it will be hot. 3rd/4th quarter will be nothing be Drake, Eminem, & Justin.

This is exciting to hear, the first Paris Morton is still one of my favorite Drake verses/songs ever, can't wait to hear the sequel. Everything I'm hearing about this album from the features, to the producers, samples, concepts, titles, is all dope AF. I'm honestly convinced this may very well end up as album of the year. Drake is really on top of shit right now.
0 0ReplyAugust 27, 2013
HOF is a 3/5 to me, not garbage like some of you are saying, but it's definitely not a classic. I only kept about half of Stay Trippy, but it was pretty much everything you'd expect from a Juicy J album, same thing with Ferg and Trap Lord. Didn't listen to Doris, but from what I've heard of Earl in the past, I don't get the hype...at all.
0 0ReplyAugust 28, 2013
JT's too nice to say anything, but you can tell he knows that was a god-awful performance, she looked ugly, flat-assed, and trashy as hell on that stage. I like the song alright and everything, but the beat isn't all that. The fact that Kanye was even thinking about using a beat like that is good news though, because he needs to ditch that Yeezus sound completely on the next album. That was his weakest album yet, and I pray it was just a one-time experimental kind of thing.
0 0ReplyAugust 28, 2013
I think he fucked up pushing to album back so far, it was supposed to come out December of last year. Thanks to Detroit, Cruel Summer, and the features he was doing, his buzz was sky high. He went away a few months and let all his buzz die down, plus he had poor single selection. I bought the album, it's far from a a classic, but it's solid. Hopefully he'll get the album process right one day.

I'm a big fan of both Drizzy & K-Dot, so I'll say that as of now, Drizzy is a better overall artist, and Kendrick is a better lyricist.

Adele is legit, I'm surprised Wiz Khalifa of all people was the first to score a feature from her. Jay-Z, Kanye, or Eminem I could see, but Wiz? I'm not even entirely sure he really got her, he probably just sampled one of her songs. But none of you should be surprised about Miley. They're already on that "23" song together. Wiz & Juicy seem to have made her an honorary Taylor Gang member. I'm not behind it though, she's a talentless slut relying on trashy gimmicks to stay relevant.
0 0ReplySeptember 04, 2013
I can't wait to hear this album, I just hope he raps more than he sings like most of you have also said. Like 3-4 R&B songs are cool, but I hope he doesn't do too many. We know Tuscan Leather, Wu-Tang Forever, Pound Cake, & Paris Morton II are rap songs, so that's 4 already lol
0 0ReplySeptember 04, 2013
Even if this is the complete tracklist with features, that's fine with me. Drake is one of the few artists who can hold an album down by himself. I will say, I was hoping for more songs, but a cohesive, classic body of work is all that matters, quality over quantity and what not. We know Majid Jordan, Big Sean, & 2 Chainz are on there. Jhene Aiko was confirmed months ago, she tweeted "From Time" after he put up the tracklist. Wayne was confirmed. We'll see if this is the full list soon.

Of course he's going to say that, but I hope he's right. If he is right, then this will easily be the best album of the year so far. The only album that will be left to challenge is is the Marshall Mathers LP 2. But if Berserk is how the whole album sounds, that won't be better either.

There weren't as many terrible punchlines, but they were still there (When I was locked up I had a phone, call it cell phone). That song with Nicki, Fab, and French was beyond weak on all parts. French sucks ass and shouldn't even have a career, Nicki is hit or miss but more often miss, and Fab just isn't what he used to be. Chainz didn't have a big single like "No Lie" this time around, Feds Watching flopped. That affiliation he had with Ye and G.O.O.D. was almost non-existent this time around, and the album just sucked compared to the last one. Plus the hype around him has just died down in general. The Weeknd's numbers are solid, I thought he'd do even more for some reason though.

This is a disappointing tracklist. It's not just that it's overloaded with features, but they're basic ass b-list/c-list features; Kendrick is the only feature I'm excited about; and Kanye isn't even on here once. And he kept "Who I Am" and "Pain" on there when those songs are weak as fuck. My anticipation for this album went down a little, I hope I'm wrong to think it will be weak.

Never once has a Future song "grabbed", "possessed", or made me "want to fall in love". All Future is good for is making catchy club bangers and radio songs, not putting together a cohesive body of work. Future has never made a song that hits the heart like "Too Much", "Look What You've Done", or "Closer To My Dreams". Frankly I'm glad Jhene Aiko is replacing him on the tour, she is a far more talented singer-songwriter and artist; definitely deserving of more shine.

Can't wait to hear the album. It would've been nice to hear some other hip-hop artists on the album, but if he was gonna choose just one, I'm glad it was Kendrick. I guess that Big Sean/Eminem collaboration is going on Sean's junior album, I just want to hear what it sounds like. I hope Sean spit the verse of his life on that shit.

Never really listened to Lecrae, but I've heard good things. I just don't see how you can continue to be original literally rapping about the same subject over and over again (god). I'm not trying to sound like an atheist or anything, but being a christian rapper just looks like it'd be very limiting to me.

If this does become a beef then it's a pretty damn stupid beef. They sound like bickering 12 year olds.
0 0ReplyOctober 25, 2013
I think it's unlikely that he'd score a Jay-Z feature and I'm pretty sure he'll never get an Eminem one. He might get an Andre 3000 feature though, especially if Future can. And apparently he's already worked with 50 Cent. I actually liked his first album, it was ignorant of course, but still dope. BOATS II was just garbage to me though, he needs to step it up on the 3rd one.

MMLP2 was pretty good to me. Of course it pales in comparison to the original, but it's still one of the better albums I've heard this year. I do agree however that the beat selection could've been a lot better. Wasn't Em in the studio with No I.D.? Did no records come out of that session? And not one Dre beat on the album either.
0 0ReplyNovember 06, 2013
I actually like Love Game and I think MMLP2 is a pretty good album and not deserving of some of the hate it's getting. Rick Rubin is a legend in Hip-Hop and I respect all he has done for the genre, but he needs to stay away from Hip-Hop records now. Yeezus and MMLP2 both suffered from his "minimalist" "strip everything down" approach

I love when people say he's just a fad whose only hot because of "Control" when GKMC went platinum without a big top 10 single on pop radio, was loved by the fans, critically acclaimed, included on many of the the "best of" list, and he was listed as MTV's hottest MC. And this is all before Control. Kendrick is here to stay. I love the fact that a lyrical rapper with substance is receiving so much success, cause there are fewer of those these days.

The terms "ratchet", "ghetto", and "chickenhead" come to my mind when I think of this chick, she pretty ugly in the face, and her T&A ain't popping neither. She the kinda chick you would just bone if you were drunk and just wanted some pussy. And as far as her actual talent is concerned, there is little. Her music is not of good enough quality to justify all the shit she talks about other artists. Kanye has more talent in his pinky than she has in her bony ass body.

Article: Film Director Guillermo Del Toro Praises Kanye West, Expresses Interest In Working With Him
They are both artistic as hell, so I'm sure they could pull off some pretty artistic shit together. Maybe Kanye could shoot another "Runaway" style movie to go with one of his albums, and Del Toro could direct it or something.
0 0ReplyNovember 11, 2013
I don't understand the hate the album gets on this site. The production could've been way better, I won't argue with that. His lyricism and flow were in peak form however. I will admit conceptually, a lot of the album is repetitive, but what how much new things do we expect for him to rap about? He's not hooked on drugs anymore, all his major legal issues are long over with, and his current family situation seems pretty stable. Bad Guy & Headlights showed growth in him too.
0 0ReplyNovember 11, 2013
I don't know if he'll be able to top GKMC or not or even just meet the skyhigh expectations there will be for it. I don't really care. He's done no wrong in my eyes so far, and I can't wait to hear the follow-up. I'm still crossing my fingers for that Duo LP with J. Cole sometime next year though...

0 0ReplyNovember 13, 2013
I think the main reason people are trashing MMLP2 is because they're holding it to the same standard as the original. His last classic album "The Eminem Show" came out in 2002. Em isn't the same Em now that he was 11 years ago at all, we have to stop judging these veterans by their old shit. It's not fair to expect MMLP2 to be as good as SSLP, MMLP1, and Eminem Show. His old shit is 10x better, but MMLP2 is still one of the best rap albums this year.
0 0ReplyNovember 13, 2013
It's not really an "advanced marketing concept" because he's did it before with the "Love Lockdown" video. I'l be watching though.
0 0ReplyNovember 16, 2013
I'm not a huge fan of his music, but I'm not mad at his success at all. I respect that Macklemore went from being the only one most people hadn't even heard of from the 2012 XXL Freshmen list, to scoring 3 smash hot 100 singles AND a platinum album totally independent. The only thing that I'm gonna be salty about is if the grammys (and the AMAs to a lesser extent) give The Heist rap album of the year of Good Kid MAAD City. That will just be complete and utter bullshit.
0 0ReplyNovember 19, 2013
This will definitely be dope if it is 100% true and not a bullshit rumor. I'm personally still crossing my fingers for this Andre 3000 solo album that was rumored about a while ago. If this mythical album actually exist, I pray it's a hip-hop album. The Love Below was dope, but I want to hear Andre rapping. Think of all the epic feature verses that 3 Stacks has done over the past few years. Now just imagine an entire album full of verses like those.

If you actually payed attention to what he said, he just said he didn't like those beats for specific reasons, he didn't say anything bad about Biggie. If anything he complimented Biggie by saying "Biggie was so cold, he could make you like anything". There's a lot of songs by my favorite artists that if I heard just the beat by themselves I wouldn't like it, but I loved the song the artists made over the beat. Y'all get so butthurt about everything.

Q-Tip producing is excellent, but as much of a legend as he is, I don't know if I want Rick Rubin having any hand in this album. I thought Yeezus was decent and I liked MMLP2, but ultimately I'm not the biggest fan of the direction he took Kanye and Eminem on those albums. I'm cool with this I suppose, I just really hope the album doesn't sound like Yeezus. If this sound is more MBDTF, Good Fridays, WTT, or The College Trilogy style, I will be so happy.

Huge Kanye fan here but come on,Eminem & Royce dropped "Hell: The Sequel" as an EP and it has 9 songs. That's ridiculous that an EP has more songs than what Kanye might end up calling his album. I'm tired of this fashion-art obsessed phase he's going through. The nigga would rather make clothes than give him his full album of music. I have a feeling he's going out of his way to make people not like him at this point. Whatever though, I'll check it out, I hope is sounds 10x better than Yeezus.

JT was snubbed in the general categories and J. Cole was snubbed for best rap album. Kendrick deserves to win AOTY and Best New Artist but we all know that a black rapper isn't going to win in the general categories (More than 50% of Outkast & Lauryn Hill's albums was singing). I'm sure him and Hov will clean up in the rap categories though. I wish Power Trip would win best collab over Holy Grail, but I know it won't.

Yeezus isn't worst album of the year, but it definitely doesn't warrant him having 10 nominations and winning album of the year. I don't agree with the critics this time around, I found a lot of the albums that came out this year to be way better than Yeezus, and the worst part of it is that Kanye is my favorite artist of any genre period. It may be artistic, creative, emotion-invoking, and impactful, but it is not quality music at the end of the day. A large number of people dislike Yeezus.

He can never just answer a question, he always has to go into a 10 minute rant about slavery, racism, the hunger games, disney, steve jobs, drake, shakespeare, nike, and being marginalized, and it's getting old. Lets put things into perspective, the first YM compilation came out 5 years ago. In that time there's been 3 Drake albums, 2 Nicki albums, and 2 Tyga albums. Meanwhile Gudda Gudda, Jae Millz, Shanell, Short Dawg, Lil Chuckee, and Lil Twist all have yet to drop one album. YM is a trash label, the artists on it who are popping did it themselves, not with the label's help. All that said, I'm only listening to the songs with Drizzy verses on this shit. He didn't put up Kendrick or Cole numbers but his sales were still pretty decent, considering he didn't even have a single as even halfway as big as Swimming Pools and the fact that he's not as big as Kendrick. As for Cudi, I gave his album one spin and wasn't really impressed. It wasn't terrible to me like some said, but it just wasn't anything special.

Racks is the song that put Future on, that hook was big as fuck, it should be higher on the list, definitely higher than Fo Real. I can't even remember the hook for You Deserve It, and I've never even heard Unconditional Love.

Too dope, Kendrick always brings that raw emotion onto songs. And being on this soundtrack is a big look, it might expose him to a few people that didn't know too much about him.

I knew this album was coming out, but I didn't know it was coming out this week. This is a major flop to compare to the first one, the label as unit has fell off so hard. Wayne, Drake, and Nicki still the only artist doing big numbers.
0 0ReplyMarch 11, 2014
Ross' album was dope, and his sales are consistent with most of his past albums, though a little less than GFID. Rozay should've called up Drake to give him another hit single.
0 0ReplyMarch 12, 2014
Divergent and Spider-Man soundtrack, Kendrick is making moves for real. It's dope to see a straight up hip-hop artist get all these huge opportunities. Can't wait to hear his next album, that shit is going to do huge numbers.

Right, he'll do another album for money, not because he actually loves hip-hop and is dedicated to making classic music. He should of quit a long time ago. He's been saying he wanted to retire for the past few years and that he's more into skateboarding than rap. If his heart isn't in it anymore, as rich as he is, he should have just fucking stopped years ago, instead of putting out this bullshit. I'm hoping CV will be a great album, but I won't hold my breath.

I'd respect Boosie telling these kids that idolize him to stay out of the streets, if I thought that was actually going to be his new approach to music. But I'd be shocked if he didn't go right back to rapping about killing and trapping, contradicting himself.

An album with almost no promotion, a flop single, and barely any appearances from the Big 3 (Wayne, Drake, Nicki) was going to flop first weak sales, no surprise here. Can we please get another G.O.O.D. Music Compilation album now?
1 0ReplyMarch 19, 2014
The top comment is so ignorant. How is he selling out? Because he did a song with Alicia Keys and Pharell? I didn't realize working with an R&B songstress and a Hip-Hop/R&B superproducer was selling out. Is it because he did it for the Spider-Man movie? What rapper wouldn't do a song for a fucking Spider-Man movie? Yall acting like he jumped on a bubblegum pop song with Selena Gomez for a chick flick or something. Everytime someone gets mainstream success you bitches throw out the word sellout
0 0ReplyMarch 31, 2014
A 50/Drizzy collab would be dope, and anything with Rihanna will most likely be a hit. I wouldn't mind seeing this happen.

Kanye's next album not sounding like Yeezus is the best news I've heard all day. I just hope he doesn't find a way to somehow to some other super weird left field shit. I'm all for not conforming to what's hot in the mainstream, but there is such thing as going too left field sometimes. I hope there is more "Otis Redding / Mobb Deep" style shit on this next album.

Article: Drake Calls Meek Mill's "Dreams & Nightmares" Intro "One Of The Best Rap Moments Of Our Generation"
Can't say I agree with Drizzy on this. Meek Mill is pretty basic and repetitive to me. He showed potential at first but he's had no artistic growth over the years. Every song is same flows same subject matters. That intro was dope but not nearly as dope as Drake tried to say.
0 0ReplyMay 01, 2014
I can't recall there ever being a Drake/Wayne single I didn't like, so I'm definitely looking forward to this. It depends on how we're looking at it. When it comes to the new school, Drake, Cole, and Kendrick are at the top of that shit no doubt. You can argue who's lyrically a better rapper all you want, I'm talking about the full package: lyrics, flow, concepts, hooks, hits, sells, cohesive albums, etc. But if we bring in the OGs like Hov, Nas, Em, Kanye, Andre 3000, etc., then Drizzy, Cole, and K. Damn, everyone is clowning dude on twitter, but I really don't find any humor in this. I wouldn't consider myself a fan of his, but I always thought he seemed like a cool and humble guy based on interviews I seen. This is what happens when you just literally blow up off of one song, and that song becomes bigger than you as an artist. Artists like Kendrick, Cole, and Q were able to do numbers mainly because they had spent years building a fanbase; hate that he blew his money.

I don't think Cole was really dissing them. He's cited Em as one of his main inspirations and even went on tour with dude; JT put Cole on the official remix to TKO which was a good look for Cole and even made a reference to the Futuresex/Lovesounds album on Villuminati. I just took it as him saying white artists are taking a black-created genre and seeing more success out of it than the black artists they were influenced by. Biggie is gone and the other original Bad Boy crew members are washed up. Los is a dope lyricist, Red Cafe and MGK are decent, French Montana is garbage.
