Two of the biggest names in the newer generation of rappers, Trippie Redd and Lil Yachty, continue to gain steam as they innovate in their respective ways. Trippie appears to have a lot in the works and with a fascination with creating "timeless music," he has the potential of impressing a lot of people this year. Yachty is coming off the release of his Lil Boat 2 project, following up the success he has seen throughout his come-up. The two have previously worked together on the Lil Boat 2 closer "66" and it looks like they have a lot more in store for their mutual fans.
Trippie Redd posted footage of the two working collaboratively in the studio last night, previewing a few tracks and showcasing an aggressive vocal dexterity. Yachty's version of the post hinted that they may have further collabs planned, writing, "Lotta shit coming 4rm me and twin." Both Boat and Trippie have shown themselves to enjoy dabbling in different vocal styles with the former even developing alternate personas for his separate singing styles. Taking advantage of the wave G Herbo has enjoyed for his Three 6 Mafia "Who Run It" freestyle, Trips and Boat had some fun over the beat themselves, taking on a more combative tone than we've become used to.
While in the studio, Trippie Redd also showed off a snippet of a new song he titled "Taking A Walk," which sounds smooth as he brings back his signature singing vocals. Whether either track ever sees the light of day is unknown and, while the two may have just been messing around, both tracks have serious potential. Check out some clips of their session below.
