Billboard has officially announced Astroworld as the chart-topper for this week. Travis Scott's latest record has reigned over the Billboard 200 charts since its debut and is still growing strong into its second week on the charts.
His numbers have been publicized as follows:
"The set earned 205,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Aug. 16 (down 62 percent), according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, a little over 78,000 were from traditional album sales (down 71 percent)...the album tallied 125,000 SEA units, which translates to 167.5 million on-demand audio streams for the album’s songs during the tracking week. "
His effort remains in the top spot despite the arrival of Nicki Minaj's Queen. Her fourth studio album debuts in second place with 185K units which includes 78K from traditional album sales. This represents the artist's 4th time releasing a project into a top 2 debut, a record for a female emcee. Her opening numbers are the second largest recorded for a female artist this year, following Cardi B's Invasion Of Privacy.
The race between both Astroworld & Queen was relatively tight. Both projects were bolstered by novel efforts, bundling the music with merch and other goodies.
Trippie Redd comes in 4th with his debut studio album Life’s a Trip with 72k units including 15k in traditional album sales.
