The last time we heard Juicy J was back in the summer when he guested on a posse remix to "Welcome to the Party." He and Travis Scott have collaborated a few times in the past and they always tend to create some memorable tracks. From "Wasted" on Rodeo to the "No English" single they did last year, Juicy and Travis have a respectable working relationship. This particular song was made while Cactus Jack was working on Astroworld. Juicy realized that he needed to get Travis on his own album, he revealed to interviewer Zane Lowe, creating this song in the weeks after. The prolific Memphis rapper is back again, premiering his latest single on Beats 1 radio as the "World Record" of the day.
Every day, Zane Lowe likes to introduce some of the hottest new tracks to us by way of his "World Record" premieres. Setting fire to the world, the legendary Juicy J goes in over a Buddah Bless beat for his new track "Neighbor." La Flame starts things out with his catchy hook and a verse of his own. Of course, we get an abundance of Juicy ad-libs throughout the entire affair, which may throw some people off. If you're not used to the Memphis artist yelling "Shut the fuck up!" or "M-m-mafia," you surely will get accustomed here.
Plenty of pop culture references exist here as Cardi B, Offset, Cassie and others are all included in Juicy's verse. How are you feeling this new track compared to their previous collaborations?
Quotable Lyrics:
Got Cardi on me like Offset
I ain't even gotta rap n---a, I'm set
Just threw a check
I ain't even cash
Fresh to death, looking like I stepped up out a casket
