When reports were swirling that Travis Scott was set to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime show, not a lot of people were for it. After it was confirmed that he would definitely hit the stage, alongside Maroon 5 and Big Boi, people still had their opinion and the latest matter on the event was that Travis would do the performance, only if the NFL made a $500,000 donation to a social justice charitable cause.
A petition by Vic Oyedeji has been created (boasting over 85,000 signatures) asking Maroon 5, Travis Scott and Big Boi to take a knee during their performance to "show the hundreds of millions of people watching that you stand in solidarity with Kaepernick and all players who protest police brutality."
The petition was previously a move to get the acts to back out of the show, but now that things are confirmed Vic thinks there is only one way to redeem their reputation.
"I have nothing against the band, this isn't about them and they just got caught in the crossfire," Vic told Billboard of Maroon 5. "I'm saying the only way for them to preserve their reputation is to take a knee during their set to show the hundreds of millions of people watching their solidarity with Colin Kaepernick and the players who are protesting police brutality.”
What do you guys think?
