Tory Lanez may be a Canadian-born rapper, but he actually comes from a diverse background in terms of his family roots. His father, Sonstar Peterson, is from Barbados and his mother, Luella, is from the Caribbean island of Curacao. These family roots have influenced Tory both musically and otherwise, but they also mean that he's got something in common with one of the biggest celebrities on the planet.
The "LUV" artist recently shared a picture of him posing with music's First Lady of Barbados, Rihanna, to his Instagram page. Clad in a black and white tracksuit and sporting some iced-out bling on his wrist and fingers, Lanez stands beaming next to RiRi, who stuns in a sea-themed print dress, her long black hair cascading down past her shoulders. You can check out the photo below.
"We met in Barbados," Lanez remarked in the caption. "Ironically, we're both bajans," he added, referring to their island roots. There's no telling whether or not this picture posing moment will lead to some sort of musical collaboration down the road, but Tory Lanez would surely welcome that kind of arrangement. The Canadian artist is looking to follow up with his recent success, with a new studio album that has been teased on the regular since September, but the fruits of that labor have yet to hit the open market.
