50 Cent and Tory Lanez are up to something. In a new post from 50, the rapper revealed that he and Tory are "working on something," though he refused to share further details: "chill you will hear about it." He closed his caption with the phrase "lights, camera, action," which suggests the collaboration may be in the world of TV rather than music.
Of course, television is 50's main gig right now. He executive-produces and appears in the very popular Starz drama Power, as well as hosting his own sketch comedy show 50 Central on BET. It's possible that Tory could be involved in one of those shows. At the same time, 50 has been teasing some new music recently. He shared the Jeremih-assisted "Still Think Im Nothing" earlier this month, and plans to drop a Gucci Mane collaboration called "On Something" in the near future (though the song already has some controversy surrounding it).
If 50 were to stick with the collaborative nature of the songs he's been working on recently, we wouldn't be surprised if he put something together with Lanez. The Toronto singer and rapper has been prolific as ever this year, kicking off 2017 with The New Toronto and Chixtape 4, before sharing a number of loose tracks including "I Sip," a Starrah-cowritten single released earlier this month.
In an interview with HNHH earlier this year, Lanez talked about his upcoming sophomore album and how it will differ from his 2016 debut I Told You. "You know, it’s a lot more music. There’s a lot more collaborative efforts done," he said. "There’s features this time around. There’s producers that I didn't work with before that I'm working with now. It’s just things that are very different. I started writing again, like writing down. I got my composition book. I got that back with the college rule lines on it. That’s when I'm on my A+ game."
Tory and 50 could very well be working on something for Tory's album as well. But like 50 said, we just have to "chill" for now. We'll hear about it.
